ISAT U Leon Campus proudly participated in the celebration of the 2024 Agriculturists’ Month, in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 544, signed on May 10, 2024. This year\u2019s theme, “Magsasaka at Mangingisda: Katuwang sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizes the essential role of farmers and fishermen. To commemorate this occasion, the Office of the Extension Services Division (ESDO) and the Office of Safety, Security, Environment, and Disaster Mitigation Management (SSEDMMO) at ISAT U Leon Campus organized a tree-growing activity and a lecture forum.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t The tree-growing activity took place on the morning of July 29, 2024, at Brgy. Lanag, Leon, Iloilo. Students, faculty, and staff actively participated under the leadership of campus administrator Dr. Gilbert Stanly D. Baylosis, planting a total of 120 seedlings. Tree-planting is crucial for environmental conservation as it combats climate change, reduces soil erosion, and enhances biodiversity. By engaging in this activity, the ISAT U community contributes to a greener, healthier environment while fostering a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship.<\/p> In the afternoon, a lecture forum on “Empowering Rural-Based Organizations in Leon, Iloilo” was held. Mr. Ryan M. Caldito, Municipal Agriculturist of Leon, Iloilo, highlighted the vital role of farmers and agriculturists in society. He provided an overview of the Municipal Agriculture Office\u2019s functions and encouraged students to take pride in their fields of study, offering valuable tips for achieving success in agriculture.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
