\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Western Visayas Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVAARRDEC) will participate in the Call for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural and Resources (AANR) Vlog Contest to showcase the Filipino youth\u2019s capabilities in STEM. This is to support the participation of R&D Regional Consortia in the National Youth Science, Technology and Innovation Festival celebration, with the theme: \u201cSTEM-VIBE (Vibrant, Innovative, Brilliant, Engaging)\u201d.<\/p>
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The consortium would like to feature the various AANR technologies in the region and showcase the capabilities of youth in STEM. In relation to this, Miss Beverly L. Bigor and Miss Jylyn V. Cornelio both Research Assistant of WESVAARRDEC together with Mr. Michael John Destua from the Office of the Intellectual Property Management (IPMO), of ISAT U conducted an interview and video shoot today, October 27, 2023 at ISAT U Leon Campus.<\/p>
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The team visited the Poultry and Feed Milling Center. Miss Florence C. Cabancalan, project in-charge of the poultry discussed the use and importance of corn mill, pelletizer, feed mixer, and hammer mill. With the help of other workers in the area, they demonstrated the use of various machines.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Mr. Anjelo Ta\u00f1o was interviewed about his innovation, \u201cYour Taste\u201d, a chayote flavored ice cream. He chooses chayote to help local farmers, it\u2019s new to the market and it\u2019s healthy. He was one of the top 20 regional-level qualifiers per enterprise for the Start-Up Component in Western Visayas in the Young Farmers Challenge.
