ISAT U Leon Campus Launches ASEAN Month with Flag Ceremony and Cultural Attire
ISAT U Leon Campus proudly kicked off ASEAN
Month with a meaningful flag ceremony held on August 19, 2024, at the covered
gym. The event was spearheaded by Ainy G. Layes, Leon Campus External Affairs
Head and National and International Affairs (NIA) Coordinator. It featured the
raising of the ASEAN flag alongside the flags of various member countries,
symbolizing unity and cooperation. Adding to the cultural significance, students,
staff, and faculty donned traditional ASEAN attire, creating a vibrant and
inclusive atmosphere.
This month’s ASEAN Celebration, themed ‘Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience,’ aims to deepen our understanding of ASEAN’s cultural diversity, foster regional solidarity, and strengthen collective resilience. The celebration encourages participants to explore and showcase ASEAN’s rich cultural heritage through their attire, with additional motivation provided by incentives. Students who showcased the best ASEAN attire were recognized and rewarded.
President Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre Jr. graced the event with his presence and delivered a message reaffirming ISAT U’s commitment to fostering ASEAN integration and understanding. He encouraged everyone to embrace the values of connectivity and resilience and to celebrate the rich diversity of ASEAN.
The event set a positive tone for the month ahead, underscoring our shared commitment to these important values. We eagerly anticipate more engaging activities that will continue to celebrate and strengthen our ASEAN community.
