NRCP names Dr. Julito C. Aligaen as 2022 Gabay Awardee
   The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) named DR. JULITO CONTADO ALIGAEN as its first NRCP Gabay Awardee for the Division of Agriculture and Forestry through his Adopted Knowledge Products: Organic Agriculture Integration in Basic Education Curriculum (K-12).
   Over fifty (50) entries from the different NRCP scientific divisions were screened for this year’s search; but judges narrowed the list down to five (5) outstanding contributions.
   Dr. Aligaen as one of the awardees received his NRCP Gabay Award last December 5, 2022 during the Council’s 89th Founding Anniversary Celebration at the Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila.
   Dr. Aligaen’s outstanding work contributed to the improvement of education in promoting inclusive development through the creation of an analytical tool that served as input to realign learning system in the basic concept of food security and environmental sustainability.
   This knowledge product was adopted by the Division of Davao del Norte particularly Asuncion National High School, as part of their basic education curriculum since 2002 to present.
   Dr. Aligaen was a former teacher of Asuncion National High School, Davao del Norte, for eleven (11) years prior to his being a researcher of Southeast Asian Ministers Education Organization Regional Education Center for Science and Mathematics (SEAMEO RECSAM), Penang, Malaysia.
   Furthermore, higher education also started adopting this knowledge product particularly Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus through its School Field School (SFS) Program.
   At present, Dr. Julito C. Aligaen is the Campus Administrator of ISAT U Leon Campus.
