ISAT U Leon Campus Joins the 60th NRYLI

  Sherilyn Cambronero, Editor-in-Chief of the Campus Publication and Lawrence Dave Camposagrado, SR President of Iloilo Science and Technology University Leon Campus attended the 60th National Rizal Youth Leadership at Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City from December 14 to 17, 2022.

    This year’s theme was “Rizal in Dapitan: An SDG Hero Ahead of His Time”. It is a four-day conference spearheaded by the Knights of Rizal.

     On the first day, the delegates were welcomed by Sir Frisco S. San Juan, Jr., KGOR Chairman. Delegates were involved in some getting-to-know-each-other activities headed by Sir Russ Juson and Ms. Cheney Galano.

   The presence of the Vice President and the Department of Education Secretary, Hon. Sara Z. Duterte, highlighted the second day of the event.  Duterte in her keynote message encouraged the youth to be inspired by the patriotism of Rizal and be the government’s partner in nation-building in their respective communities and also to be ambassadors of goodwill to their fellow youth.

    The VPO commended the organizers for providing Filipino youth leaders an avenue to experience the life, values, and works of Dr, Jose Rizal, especially in working for the good of the country and the Filipino people even during his exile in Dapitan.

    There were various contests done during the conference like Oratorical Speech, Extemporaneous Speech, Rizal Quiz Bee, Journalism contest, Essay Writing, Painting, and Makabayang Sayawitan.

    The two delegates from this university were accompanied by Ms. Gima A. Campoy, Adviser, The Green Thumb. Delegates were given a chance to roam around and enjoy the sceneries of Baguio City on the last day of the event.

     The annual conference gathered 513 delegates from different parts of the country, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
