Library Rules and Regulations

  1. LIBRARY HOURS

                REGULAR SEMESTER/ SUMMER

                              7:00 – AM – 6:00 P.M. – MONDAY TO FRIDAY                                                     

CLIENTELE

                The ISAT U-Leon students, faculty, non-teaching personnel, alumni and outside researchers can avail of the library resources and services subject to its rules and regulations. Researchers from other institutions can avail of the library resources and services upon presentation of the letter from their librarian, subject to the rules and regulations of the library.

 

LIBRARY IDENTIFICATION CARD

  1. Library card is a requirement to all students to avail library resources and facilities.

New students and transferees should present their Registration Form together with           

                       1 pc. (1×1) ID picture. This card is non-transferable.                           

  1. A properly validated library card must be presented upon entering the library. Validation of Library Card is done at the beginning of each semester upon presentation of Registration Form.
  2. Lost library card should be reported immediately to the librarian. Replacement of lost library card costs Php 10.00 together with the letter of request duly signed by the adviser.

 

LENDING SYSTEM

  1. Books lent overnight use must be returned not later than 8:30 in the morning the following day excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
  2. Only two books of different subjects are allowed for each student to be loaned for overnight use.
  3. Book reservation should be recorded in the logbook in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. reservation would be on first come, first served basis. Reserved books could be availed at 4:00 p.m.
  4. General Reference books such as: encyclopedias, yearbooks, dictionaries, atlases, manuals and other types such as newspapers, magazines, and journals are to be read inside the library only.
  5. Theses and dissertations are not lent for overnight use and are not allowed to be photocopied.
  6. Permanent faculty members are allowed to borrow a maximum of five books for one  semester for the subjects they are teaching. Books with single copy are not allowed to be borrowed by the faculty if it is used as one of the references in the subject/s taught. 
  7. Regular employees are allowed to borrow a maximum of two book/s for certain period of time and will be recalled if needed by the students. Borrowed books of faculty and non- teaching personnel should be returned to the library as soon as he/she has his/her clearance signed by the librarian.
  8. Part time faculty members are allowed to borrow a maximum of five books. Borrowed materials should be returned upon signing of clearance.
  9. Renewal of books borrowed by faculty would depend on the demand for use of the

                                               

FINES AND PENALTIES

  1. Failure to return the books within the given time is subject to a penalty of Php 3.00 per day.
  2. Lost book/s should be reported immediately to the librarian. Otherwise, if it is

overdue, the borrower will have to pay the overdue fines incurred until the day the loss is reported. A book of the same author, title and copyright can replace a lost book. However, if it is not available, a book of the same subject but of the latest edition can be made as a replacement. (Please see the Librarian for your replacement).

  1. A student caught stealing or found cutting or mutilating library material/s will be reported to the Office of the Student Affairs and Services for appropriate disciplinary action.  (Student Manual)
  2. Books that were badly damaged or with missing or torn pages upon return should   

be replaced with a new one of the same author, title and copyright or if it is not available, the one with latest edition.

  1. Penalty for students who forged the librarian’s signature for the purpose of settling account from the library would be sanctioned. (University Code)

 

CONDUCT IN THE LIBRARY

  1. The library is a place for reading and study. Eating or sleeping is strictly prohibited.
  2. SILENCE is religiously observed.
  3. Cleanliness is everybody’s concern

               

Reminders to Library Clienteles:

Library users are reminded that all books, periodicals and other library materials are the property of the Iloilo Science and Technology University-Leon Campus Library and may not be removed from the library without proper authorization. No library items should be clipped, marked or otherwise mutilated. Commission of any of these acts constitutes an offense and carries with it corresponding sanctions.
