A New Chapter Begins: ISAT U Leon Pre-Service Teachers Honored in First Pinning Ceremonony
In a landmark event for the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus, the First Pinning Ceremony for the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) major in Agricultural Crops Production and the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) major in Agri-fishery Arts was held. This inaugural rite served as a formal induction for the pre-service teachers, symbolizing their transition from classroom learners to field-ready teaching interns prepared to champion the country’s agricultural and vocational sectors.
The ceremony commenced with a solemn processional, marking the entrance of the student teachers who marched alongside their proud parents. They were followed by the SIP (Student Internship Program) advisers, the Teacher Education faculty, program coordinators, and the heads of various offices, all gathered to witness this pivotal transition in the students’ academic journey.
Welcomed by the Head of Instruction, Ms. Maryflor Cansancio highlighted that “The pinning ceremony is more than a simple ritual. It symbolizes your transition from being learners of theory to becoming practitioners of the teaching profession. The pin you will pick will represent responsibility, commitment, and the trust placed in you as future educators who will help shape minds”.
Following the pinning, the interns stood in a unified display of dedication to take their Oath of Commitment. This pledge solidified their promise to uphold the highest standards of the teaching profession and to serve as catalysts for innovation in agricultural education.
