ISAT U Leon Campus Joins the 160th Handuraw 2025 Celebration

Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus faculty, staff, and Student Republic (SR) Officers actively participated in the 160th Handuraw 2025 Celebration of the Municipality of Leon on September 1, 2025.

This year’s Handuraw Festival, themed “PAG-AMLIG: Padayon nga Pag-atipan sang Dunang Manggad kag Katawhan”), highlighted the importance of protecting local heritage and fostering unity among the people of Leon. The event gathered various schools, government agencies, and community organizations, making it a true celebration of solidarity and pride.

The Handuraw Festival commemorates the historic transfer of Leon from its old site in Sitio Camando to Sitio Capan, a milestone that shaped the town’s identity. Beyond its historical significance, the festival also showcases the town’s vibrant culture, enduring traditions, and strong community spirit.

Through its participation, ISAT U Leon Campus reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local traditions and preserving cultural heritage while further strengthening its ties with the municipality and the community it serves.
