3 in 1 Tractor-driven Furrower garnered 2nd place in Best Tech Poster

     The Iloilo Science and Technology University joins the first Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest held on December 6, 2022, at Acacia Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa, City. The said activity was a collaboration among DOST-PCAARRD, Association of PAQE Professionals (APP), and Licensing Executives Society of the Philippines (LES). The tractor-driven furrower of ISATU Leon Campus is among the 26 technologies that were showcased in the event. The participants were composed of the RAISE Team of ISATU Main Campus led by Dr. Olive Joy Abing, project staff and two assistants, Mr. Lloyd Esparagoza and Ms. Danna May Demetita, and the three representatives from Leon Campus namely Ms. Marika Anne V. Antonio, Ms. Joy Lyn C. Cabarles and Ms. Alyssa Joy S. Caldina. The tractor-driven furrower was designed by Dr. Julito C. Aligaen and Mr. Ulyssis Caldina with the help of Engr. Joesan Marri T. Ferasol and Ar. Nowell Ron A. Arsayo as a technical consultant and visual artist respectively.

The endeavor of the university started from the  10-day Technology Promotion Mentorship Series (TPMS) which involves training/workshop in IEC Development and production, storytelling to sell, digital marketing and technology promotion events, and pitching dry-run. The technology was included in the top 26 presenters out of 150 participants during the pitching dry-run, hence qualifying the technology for the national agri-aqua pitch fest. In addition, the IEC Materials developed by the university was also included in the Top 10 and finally landed on the top 2 best tech poster.

     The event was participated by various state universities and colleges (SUCs) and research and development institutes (RDIs) across 15 regions in the country. The activity was supported by the programs of DOST PCAARD on Intellectual Property (IP) protection and management and technology commercialization.
