“BAYLE: Paghanduraw kag Pagtib-ong”
A cultural dance seminar workshop was held at Audio Visual Room N-Building, ISAT U Iloilo City Campus on May 9, 2023.
Dr. Raul F. Muyong, University President, welcomed the participants from Iloilo City and the external campuses. Other key officials in the workshop were Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre, Jr. and Dr. Corazon Corbal. Dr. Dyna N. Remaneses gave the orientation and the flow of the morning’s activity and lectured on Social Graces and Dance Etiquette. The history and the nature of BAYLE was expounded by Mrs. Melly R. Brides, Cultural Affairs Coordinator of Miagao Campus. Dancers from Miagao Campus had a demo on Sweet and Hot Dances. Cha-Cha Dance was demonstrated by the students of Dumangas Campus along with their Cultural Affairs Coordinator, Dr. Fideliz Marie C. Abadonio.
This was followed by the Tango Dance demonstrated by the Leon Campus dancers with Mrs. Sarah Jane C. Camarino, Coordinator and Ms. Garily C. Camatison. The last dance demonstrated were the Boogie and the Rock N’ Roll performed by the dancers from Barotac Nuevo Campus along with Dr. Bonnie Gay C. Bandada, their Cultural Affairs Coordinator.
The day’s event was highlighted with the original “Bayle in the Barrio” wherein participants moved at the center of the venue and typically danced the newly demonstrated dances feeling the atmosphere of the fiesta in the barangay.
Dr. Maria Teresa C. Carbon, Head of Instruction gave her closing remarks.
Delegates from ISAT U Leon Campus immediately had the echo seminar workshop in the afternoon at ISAT U Covered Court with fifty five (55) participants, dancers and facilitators.
