ISAT U Leon Campus Extension Services Division Conducts Skills Training on Azolla Production to Isian Victoria Farmers

    The Extension Services Division Office (ESDO) headed by Ms. Keith S. Guantero, Head, Extension Services together with the Extension Services Coordinators, selected faculty and staff members and students successfully conducted the training on Azolla Production to Isian Victoria Farmers on May 11, 2023 at Brgy. Isian Victoria Multi-Purpose Hall.

      The registration started at 7:30-8:00 AM, followed by the opening program wherein Hon. Jaime Cabrieto, Brgy. Captain of Isian Victoria welcomed all the participants and facilitators then, Dr. Julito C. Aligaen, Campus Administrator gave his inspirational message.

      Thereafter, Ms. Joy Lyn C. Cabarles , Agriculture Faculty introduced the lecturer followed by the training proper by Mr. Lester F. Legaspi ,Crop Science Faculty. He discussed the techniques and the derived nutrient benefits in azolla production as an excellent source of proteins, vitamins and minerals to animal diet. In the afternoon a field hands-on activity on azolla production was participated actively by the participants and an open forum followed.

      The activity concluded by awarding the certificate of participation to all the participants. The main purpose of the said training is to prepare the beneficiaries for the dispersal of native swine, the project of the university which is one of the phases of the Multiplier Farm Project for the native pigs and goats in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 6 (DA-RFU R6).
