ISAT U Leon Campus Conducts NSTP Orientation for Incoming First-Year Students, AY 2025-2026

In preparation for the opening of classes for Academic Year 2025–2026, the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus successfully conducted its National Service Training Program (NSTP) Orientation for incoming first-year students on June 19, 2025 at the campus covered gym.

The orientation formally welcomed freshmen and introduced them to the objectives, structure, and significance of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), a mandatory program for tertiary students in the Philippines established under Republic Act 9163. The session aimed to provide clear guidance to students as they prepare to choose between the two NSTP components offered on campus: the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).

NSTP coordinators and facilitators presented detailed overviews of each component. The CWTS program emphasizes community engagement, social responsibility, environmental awareness, and participation in outreach initiatives that address local development needs. Meanwhile, the ROTC program focuses on military orientation, discipline, leadership training, disaster response preparedness, and patriotism, equipping students with skills that contribute to national defense and emergency response efforts.

Following the orientation, students proceeded with the official selection process, marking the beginning of their NSTP journey. Campus officials emphasized that whichever component students choose, both programs are designed to mold them into proactive citizens committed to community service and nation-building.

Through this initiative, ISAT U Leon Campus reaffirms its commitment to holistic education-developing not only academic competence but also social awareness, leadership, and a strong sense of civic duty among its learners.
