ISAT U Leon Campus Receives Solar-Powered Irrigation Pump from Iloilo Provincial Government

The Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus received a solar-powered irrigation pump from the Iloilo Provincial Government during the Turnover of Agricultural Projects held on July 21, 2025, at Brgy. Agboy Sur, Leon, Iloilo.

Representing ISAT U Leon Campus at the turnover ceremony were Dr. Rafael Cabarles and Ms. Keith Guantero, both faculty members, who accepted the unit on behalf of the university.

The solar-powered irrigation system is expected to enhance the campus’ agricultural initiatives by supporting research, instruction, and extension programs. The equipment will provide a sustainable and cost-efficient water source for crops, enabling students and faculty to explore innovative and climate-smart farming practices.

The project is part of the Iloilo Provincial Government’s continuing initiative to support agricultural development and promote environmentally sustainable practices among farming communities and partner institutions.

Through this partnership, ISAT U Leon Campus continues to reinforce its commitment to community engagement, agricultural innovation, and the advancement of sustainable technologies that benefit both the academic community and local farmers.
