ISAT U organizes Blood Donation Drive

In a concerted effort to promote health and save lives, the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus, in partnership with the Aleosan District Hospital and the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) Blood Bank, successfully conducted a Blood Donation Drive on April 29, 2025.

The venue of the event was the ISAT U Audio Visual Room (AVR). The medical personnel of the university welcomed students, faculty and staff, and the members of the community who volunteered to donate blood. With the slogan “Be a Hero, Save Lives” , this encouraged more people to contribute to the life- saving cause of voluntarily donating blood. This drive aimed to ensure a sufficient and safe blood supply for patients who will be needing transfusions in the future.

A total of 21 bags of different blood types were extracted from donors with 450 ml/unit, 14 from the students and members of the faculty and staff of ISAT U and 7 from the members of the community. The collected blood were stored at WVMC Blood Bank, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

ISAT U , Aleosan District Hospital and WVMC Blood Bank people expressed gratitude to all the donors for their unwavering support and commitment in saving lives. This blood donation drive highlighted the importance of school and community involvement and solidarity in addressing crisis of lack in blood supply.
