One of the greatest challenge of today’s educational system is to keep abreast on skills that the industry needs. In connection to this, the University is including the student internship program (SIP) in order to fill in the job mismatch of our graduates. As a student-intern you will be conducting an industry based On-The-Job training for 240 hours as reflected on your curriculum. You will be deployed to our various partner industries wherein you will have a hands-on experience on what is happening in a workplace scenario. As a student-intern you are required to abide with the rules and regulations of our partner industries. While working along with our partners you should make the most out of your student internship in order to equip yourself with the skills needed by the time you will graduate. The theories that you learned from your classroom will be supplemented with the hard skills that you will learn from your internship. Soft skills (adaptability, leadership, organizational) on the other hand will help you be prepared on how to deal with your colleagues once you are already in a workplace scenario. Observe and take note on the most important things that you will encounter that you think will be useful to you.

As you start your internship you have to comply with the medical laboratory requirements such as fecalysis, urinalysis, drug test and pregnancy test. You can access the request slip for medical laboratory here. Once you have the result proceed to the Rural Health Unit, Government Hospital or Clinic and present your result to the physician have your self checked if you are physically fit to work. Once you have the medical certificate, download the SIP Forms, fill it up and have it signed. Submit the medical certificate and SIP forms to your SIP Supervisors and you are ready to be deployed for your 240 hours of internship.

Hope that you will learn a lot from your internship experience. Good Luck!
