
ISAT U LEON hosts First Aid Training
The Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) Leon Campus successfully conducted a First Aid Training program for selected faculty, staff and students on April 7, 2025, 2nd Floor College Library. The training was organized by the office of Safety, Security, Environment, Disaster Mitigation and Management(SSEDMO) to enhance the emergency preparedness and response skills of the participants in the activity.
The program was opened by a prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, ISAT U Hymn and Leon Hymn all on records. Dr. Gilbert Stanly D. Baylosis, Campus Administrator gave his opening remarks.The introduction of the guest speaker was done by Ms. Joy Lyn C. Alfor, DMM Coordinator. Trainees took active participation in sessions and practical training to equip them with vital first aid knowledge and skills in handling emergencies, particularly in carrying injured persons and proper bandaging techniques.
The salient subject of the training was the comprehensive lecture on “Basic First Aid, Carries and Bandaging.” This was conducted by Fire Officer 2 Arvy John L. Moquera fom Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Leon along with FO 1 Gerald Andrei Gillegao. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation, followed by closing remarks from Ms. Florence C. Cabancalan, Security & Safety Coordinator.
This initiative aligns with ISAT U’s goal of fostering a safe and prepared academic environment and highlight the university’s commitment in developing globally competitive human resources.
