
ISAT U Leon Campus attends the university-wide cultural dance seminar workshop
Mrs. Sarah Jane C. Camarino, ISAT U Leon Campus Cultural Coordinator attended ISAT U Cultural Affairs’ University-Wide Cultural Dance Seminar-Workshop titled “ISAT U MOVEMENT: Embracing the Streets 2025”, at ISAT U Iloilo City Campus Multipurpose Educational Center on March 31, 2025.
The event aimed to introduce and promote various street dance styles, contributing to the growth of the dance community in Iloilo. This was participated in by selected students and their coaches from all ISAT U Iloilo City and external campuses, each campus led by its cultural coordinator along with identified eight (8) student dancers.
Accomplished dance facilitators and renowned local hip-hop dance instructors led the participants through various steps and styles showcasing the diversity and uniqueness of hip-hop. They were Mr. Dave S. Jaleco and Ms. Kathy S. Bacaycay, local choreographers with JV Mitchell a choreographer from Manila.
The workshop was blended of practical instruction and insightful discussion about the history and culture of hip-hop dance like popping, locking, breaking and more.
The workshop culminated in a showcase where participants demonstrated their newly acquired skills through an Open Style and Hip-hop Dance Battle.
Hip-hoppers from ISAT U Leon Campus included Dilara Elija Caigoy, Paulyn Kate Tabuena, Ana Leah Anape, Marielle Star Importante, Doren Camus, Honea Calinawagan, Andria Cabaya, and Mary Anne Andea.
