Iloilo Science and Technology University Leon Campus Student Republic gained accreditation as Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC) Program Partner of the Office of the Ombudsman for S.Y. 2022-2023 through the project titled “Pag-Usad: Developing Youth Empowerment” last December 12, 2022.

  This program capacitated and empowered youth leaders with their involvement in corruption prevention, development of leadership skills, and instilling with them the values of integrity and social responsibility.

   Obligations following this recognition included implementing online CIC Project activities in promoting integrity and social responsibility using online platforms. The activities reflected in the organization’s proposal: Pagpabutyag: A 2-minute Film Showcasing the Essence of Integrity and Honesty using creative and visual art; and Symposium: Agri-Students toward Agricultural Innovation to promote knowledge, practices and recognize the transformative change in agriculture.

    Dr. Pedro T.  Escobarte, Jr. Assistant Regional Director during the Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC) Program Orientation and Planning Activity via Zoom platform assured us student leaders that the regional office will always be ready to support us and support our university in our programs and projects that will help realize the regional mantra, and to produce more champion leaders in the home of the champions.

   Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC) is a nonpartisan school-based youth organization recognized by a secondary or tertiary educational institution and duly accredited by the Office of the Ombudsman. It promotes activities that cultivate the virtues of uprightness, responsibility, honesty, respect for authority, and love of country.  It also intends to instill a sense of good citizenship and responsible leadership, and inculcate the basic principles of human rights and civic duties.
