Dispersal of Native Goats

Dispersal of Native Goats

The Iloilo Science and Technology University Leon Campus continued to uphold its commitment of undertaking sustainable extension and production activities.

On September 22, 2023, the Office of the Extension Services Division, led by Extension Head, Keith S. Guantero, BSA Extension Coordinator, Ainy G. Layes, Technical Expert in the Field of Animal Science, Dr. Rafael C. Cabarles and Florence C. Cabancalan and Boyce C. Abentino, Multiplier Farm Project Manager, successfully turned over 3 bucklings and 2 doelings to its beneficiary, Mr. Eisenhower Camilon, Jr. at Brgy. Tacuyong Sur, Leon, Iloilo.

Mr. Camilon, Jr. is a recipient of the Dispersal Project of the Multiplier Farm for Native pigs and goats of the University after successfully providing all the requirements for native goat production such as housing, availability of forage, source of water and experience in livestock animal husbandry.

As Mr. Camilon, Jr. continues to engage in the native goat production, the Extension Services Division Office together with the Municipal Agriculture Office of the municipality of Leon continuously provides technical assistance to ensure the success of the project.

It is the hope of the University, led by its Campus Administrator, Dr. Julito C. Aligaen, to create change in the community by providing opportunities in uplifting recipient’s status in life.
