La Guerta Verde de ISAT U Leon Campus, garners 2nd Place in the MoRProGRes Garden Contest Academe Category (College Level)

La Guerta Verde de ISAT U (The Green Garden of ISAT U) proudly clinched 2nd place in the highly anticipated MoRProGRes (Movement for a Robust Garden, Progressive and Globally Competitive and Resilient Province of Iloilo) Garden initiative, spearheaded by Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. The awarding ceremony took place at the Provincial Capitol in Iloilo City on April 12, 2024. ISAT U Leon Campus received a certificate and a cash incentive of P150,000.00 for its outstanding achievement.

The MoRProGRes Garden initiative, initiated by the Province of Iloilo, aims to foster urban gardening, enhance food security, and promote environmental awareness within the local community. By encouraging the creation of productive and visually appealing gardens, the initiative strives to inspire a greener and more sustainable future for the region. This program, designed to cultivate agri-tourism destinations, has garnered praise for its innovative approach to addressing issues such as food security, environmental sustainability, and climate change.

La Guerta Verde  de ISAT U is committed to achieving self-sufficiency while demonstrating exemplary farming practices, and ISAT U aims to cultivate eco-friendly human resources by maximizing the use of recyclable and sustainable production materials. It serves as a platform for showcasing agricultural innovations and community interventions, promoting responsible food production and consumption, and emphasizing the importance of environmental protection and sustainable farming practices.
