“Share Love, Give Blood”: ISAT U Leon Campus Blood Donation Drive for Men and Women of the Municipality of Leon.
ISAT U Leon Campus with its Extension Services Division Office (ESDO), Gender and Development (GAD), Medical and Dental Clinic and Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) sponsored a bloodletting activity with personnel from Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Iloilo Chapter.
This activity started at 8 o’clock this morning, March 3, 2023 at ISAT U Covered Court. Fifty (50) blood donors are expected to come and participate. The goal of this activity is to collect adequate supply of blood that will be used to save lives as well as promote public awareness on the importance of blood donation. This activity is in reference to Republic Act No. 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, which promotes voluntary blood donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks. This act aims to inculcate public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act.
The Committee accommodated people from PRC: Dr. Jayson S. Acebuque, Medical Officer, Donor Recruitment Officer, Ms. Catherine Sorongon, Ms. Richel Menteclaro, Ms. Hannah Berano, Ms.Therese Canieso, Medical Technologists and Mr. Richard Gersaba, Staff.
People from different barangays of Leon and several personnel from ISAT U headed by Dr. Julito C. Aligaen, Campus Administrator were among the donors. Donors were given a medical kit, free snack and lunch.
