ISAT U Leon Campus Bachelor of Science in Agriculture IV Students major in Crop Science Participated in Research Colloquium 2023
Two representatives, Miss Devine Rose Bensal and Miss Juvy Ann Calacasan of BSA IV major in Crop Science actively participated in the Research Colloquium 2023 organized by ISAT U Iloilo City Campus, through its Research Services Department Office spearheaded by Dr. Mae Angeline Tajolosa and Dr. Edsel O. Coronado held at the Miag-ao Campus Covered Gym on May 16, 2023 with the theme: “Empowering Student Research Excellence and Innovation Amidst the Challenges”.
Miss Bensal joined the Oral Presentation and Miss Calacasan took part in Poster Presentation under Technology Category. They presented their study: “Growth and Yield Performance of Different Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) Varieties Under ISAT U Leon Campus Conditions”.
The activity was attended by the student researchers across ISAT U Campuses together with their thesis’ advisers, deans, Vice President for Research and Extension (Dr. Carmelo V. Ambut), Vice President for Academic Affairs (Dr. Corazon C. Corbal) and other University Key Officials. Also present from ISAT U Leon Campus were Ms. Jertz Vlyn D. Escala (Research Coordinator), Mr. Lester F. Legaspi (Research Cluster Chair-Agriculture) and Dr. Eric James P. Talagon, thesis adviser.
The objectives of the said colloquium were to gain insights from other research studies presented and to enhance skills in research paper writing, an avenue for undergraduate students to showcase and disseminate significant findings of their researches. Likewise, the activity was one of the highlights in the 8th ISAT U Charter Anniversary Celebration.
